Welcome,
I'm happy that you
are here! Get yourself
a nice cool glass of
raspberry tea and sit
a bit....
I want to tell
you a little bit about
us...Southern Style
Puppies.
Starting
out as a Vet Tech (
on about 26 years ago,
or so) , I have always
loved dogs.... I just
enjoyed them so much
( Still do). The more
I worked with them,
the more I knew I wanted
to fill my life with
these beautiful animals....
and one by one,starting
with the wonderful
Peek-a-Poo, I
began to carefully
develop my breeding
line......
Being
a Peek-a-Poo owner,
I wanted to have them
groomed nicely. But,
after much frustration
, I was unable to find
a groomer that would
style my peek-a-poos
the way I wanted them
( they'd shave them
to the skin!). After
giving it a bit of
thought I decided
I needed to learn to
groom dogs.
Without
any formal grooming
experience, I set out
to learn "it all"...
and that I did! With
the help of friends
and family ( who let
me practice on their
dogs) and a pet shop
grooming friend that
guided me through,
I taught myself all
the tricks of the trade...
and then some.
Being
a Vet tech, I knew
how to hold a dog properly
at the pressure points,
how to comfort a frightened
animal, or one that
may even bite....that
really gave me a nice
edge in grooming.
Eventually, I
opened my own grooming
shop...naming it Common
Sense Grooming... simply
because I use common
sense in everything
I do, especially when
it comes to
my customer’s
or my own dogs. (

Ironically,
my very first dog was
a peek-a-poo. It was
given to my brother
and I by my aunt,
who raised champion
poodles.
One
day, a neighbors Pekingese
got through her fence
and bred her prize
poodle. She was sure
her poodle was ruined
for life, but you know
what? We got the sweetest
and cutest dogs we
had ever seen! ..it's
history from there..
I fell in love with
those cute little Peek-a-Poos!
Peek-a-poos
are great... and great
protectors, too! I
even had one stand
between my three year
old son and a pit bull
who actually saved
my sons life! I have
owned one ever since!
Now...
if you wonder how I
got my first poodle..well
that was just meant
to be! My
best poodle came to
me from a friend who
needed a vet but couldn’t
afford one. When she
called me with her
dilema, I just knew
I could help. Working
for a Vet, I knew exactly
what to do, so I set
her poodle's broken
leg for her, free of
charge, and to my surprise
she gave me a poodle
puppy two months later!
I
have been breeding
peek-a-poos for sixteen
years, and poodles
for fourteen years.
We do not use cages
or kennels or anything
restrictive. All of
our puppies run around
in my grooming shop
in their own "puppy"
room, built and decorated
especially for them.
We feed them the best
and treat them as family.
To
assist in the transition
from our home to your's...
we start paper
training at four weeks...so
by the time you get
your baby he/she's
practically, if not
totally potty trained!
All
of my breeding adult
dogs were bought as
puppies, and raised
by me , in my home.
All
of my dogs and puppies
are loved, get along
well with each other,
and are kid friendly...they
are very spoiled; just
ask any one of them!
I
hope
you
have
enjoyed
getting
to
know
me,
now
don't
be
a
stranger...
email
me
and
tell
me
a
bit
about
you,
and
what
you
are
looking
for
in
a
family
pet...
I'll
just
bet
I
have
what
you
are
looking
for!
